Addendum to Z’s post…His super human strength was made evident by the feat of actually flipping a 20” crash inside out.  Confused?  You know those rubber half-sphere toys that you flip inside out, set on a table, and they flip up into the air a few feet?  Well, Zach accidentally did that to a cymbal…in the store…with the owner watching.  Awkward.

The other thing was…Zach was trying out lots of cymbals.  Big, loud cymbals.  He plays them hard (come to a show). I had my fingers deep in my ears and it was still loud. Zach had earplugs in.   I look over at the owner of this very small drum shop, and he is not even flinching, grimacing, or squinting…just surfing the internet and acting as if one of those peaceful noise machines is on in the background.  You know the kind….waves and seagulls, maybe a rainforest.  Troy is the man, he gave us a great deal on some cymbals…but his ears are shot.
